If you want Wordle-like games for songs, you are looking for Heardle’s children. Spotify announced on 12 July 2022 that it would acquire Heardle; TechCrunch reported the last day as 5 May 2023. heardle.app now sends you to Spotify. The search demand did not shut down with it.
The living music guessing games like Wordle we could load on 25 August 2026 are Bandle (instruments appear one by one), Songless, Spotle (artist clues; no Spotify affiliation is claimed here), Hum High (brands itself a Heardle alternative), and Groovle at groovle.ai (unlimited / by genre — groovle.io is a different site). Bandle Pro and Groovle are the clearest answers to “music Wordle unlimited.”
This page is not “Wordle with a soundtrack in the background.” If you wanted a five-letter word game that happens to play music, that is a different query; the titles below are guess-the-song games.
| Game | You guess | Clue | Unlimited | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bandle | Song title | Instrument stems | Pro mode | Most people, after Heardle |
| Songless | Song title | Audio clip | Unlimited mode | Heardle muscle memory |
| Spotle | Music artist | Artist clues | No | Guess the artist |
| Hum High | Song title | Clip + hints | No | Quick daily |
| Groovle | Song | Clip + genres | Yes | Music Wordle unlimited / by genre |
| Music Quizly | Song / album | Clip, also multiplayer | Multi-round | Parties |
Autocomplete still offers “music Wordle rock”, “music Wordle by instrument”, and “music Wordle guess the artist.” Bandle’s instrument reveal is the by-instrument game. Spotle and artist-themed dailies cover guess-the-artist. Groovle’s genre picker is the closest we found to a dedicated rock (or any-genre) unlimited mode without standing up a new clone. Taylor Swift fans should also see Taylordle on the fandom page — that one is a word list, not a song clip.
